Happy New Year!

Hi all!  Happy New Year!  I’m sorry for being AWOL.  I really am.  It was a very busy last year with a lot to do.  Some good, some so-so.  The end of the year is usually the busiest time of the year for everyone anyway.

Have  you begun any New Year’s resolutions?  I don’t really apply resolutions to my life because let’s face it – does anyone really keep resolutions?  I like to set goals instead.  Reasonable and attainable.  For example, I am so very excited to tell you that I have joined a very exciting, new quilting group called the Crafty Gemini Quilt Club and it’s been going on for about a couple of weeks now with some very cool and exciting projects that kicked off with a jam-packed January!  Now this quilt club is for every level of quilters, from the newbie beginner to the seasoned pro.  I love this group because you learn so much!  Vanessa Vargas Wilson, aka The Crafty Gemini, can also be found on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and on her website, the Crafty Gemini.  She is GREAT!  Take a look and you, too will get hooked on her awesome teaching style and numerous, easy-to-follow tutorials.  I wanted to really get motivated to do some serious quilting this year so I jumped at the chance to be a part of her club!  So glad I did!

Another great project-based website that has great tutorials is Crazy Little Projects, which also has a lot of great ideas such as projects for Teacher Appreciation Week, Valentine’s Day, and the holidays.  They are easy to follow and are cute and unique.  The author’s name is Amber and she is always posting fresh content.

Do you want to get started on some great creative projects for the New Year?  Explore these sites.  I have done a lot of projects from these sites for long time and they will get your creativity engine going!

Let’s get started!  Happy New Year!

This is a craft flower my daughter made in her kindergarten class.  I am turning it into a quilt block for a wall quilt that I am making her.  🙂
