Teacher Appreciation Week! Monday

It’s May!  How is the weather by you?  It is super hot in my neck of the woods, pretty early for this time of year actually.  I can already tell that it is going to be a hot Summer and even though I have lived in Texas my entire life, I am not looking forward to it!

So let’s kick off May with Teacher Appreciation Week!  I have never really participated in school-related activities, first, because my children are really young and don’t really understand all the hoopla and second, because I didn’t really have the time to think through what I wanted to do since I like to be really creative and do unique things.  Today is the first day for my kids’ school, who are celebrating with an apple for Monday.  They were asked to bring something apple-related – a drawing, a fresh apple, a dessert with apples, etc.  My children know that I drink apple cider and they had seen the packages in my cupboard with the name Alpine Apple Cider and they decided that that is what they wanted to give their teachers.  They are so imaginative!  I helped them write ‘happy’ over the Apple on the package and ‘day’ after Cider along with the teacher’s name.  Needless to say, their teachers were impressed with the uniqueness of the idea and were very appreciative since they had an arsenal of fresh apples on their desks.

Did you participate in your school?  What are some of your ideas?  Tomorrow?  Something sweet…yum!
