Happy 2014!

Happy New Year!  I sincerely hope for your well-being and health, your safety, and above all, all the happiness in the world!

That said, I hope your year has begun with a fresh look at creative ideas, many more mom adventures, an abundance of favorite things, and new worlds to explore in books!

So how about starting off small?  I am beginning the year with knitting an easy-to-knit scarf for my daughter.  I saw a similar scarf online and I wanted to make the exact same one:

Crafty

You can get the pattern for this exact cowl scarf at http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/knitting/accessory/redeemed-its-in-my-new-e-book-too/36721

Isn’t it pretty?  The picture above uses more of a burnt/dark orange yarn but I am using a rich, dark red yarn with a dark red button.  I know how to knit so I just eyeballed it and it looks pretty much the same, just with a different color.  If you would like to learn how to knit this scarf, the picture has the link to where you can get the pattern.

And speaking of learning, would you like to learn how to knit?  Knitting is something I’ve done in passing really, but this Winter I really got into the whole scarf thing.  I don’t know why but it’s like when you start something new you tend to want to practice or do more of it.  So I got on the knitting kick.  Knitting is not hard.  It is fun, relaxing, and you can take your project anywhere.  If you are interested in learning the basics, here is an easy-to-follow video by Cyberseams:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCgEUwESYZk&list=PL39F4DE9E147D7243&index=41  Check out their website Cyberseams for other great information and tutorials as well.

What will your project be?  Please share your new project!

Here’s looking forward to another amazing year!
